I really luv the Silver.
Like you said it really shows off the lines!!
Also another bonus too having the Silver is that it is really easy to keep clean!

No longer Waiting-4-550
Guys got mine Friday and had great weekend with family.. Drove it over 500 miles over weekend on outing.. It's a beautiful truck and it's got so many "goodies".. I consider myself a car junkie yet I could hardly focus on the road.. So many knobs and options... Oh and the ride is awesome!! Comfort mode is like being in a limo and not a truck-- truly amazing.. Sport mode delivers the sport too... How do they do that?? Oh what about raising the truck several inches at the touch of a button.. (WOW).. This is basically a very good looking GL on steroids... Grille/wheels/fender flares all make for real nice impression.. Also my Ob black on black is real nice.. Black interior with white stitiches is beautiful.. Amazing!!!!

If MB keeps up the good work then Bimmers may be in trouble.. Also Bimmers already screwed up with latest X5.. This GL blows away the X5.. Alot of potential X5 buyers were turned off by lack of new X5 utility.. Their 3rd row is a real joke.. MB came up with a truck that answers many needs.. That's why it won 2007 Truck of the Year and GL550 is an even better package.. I think I made a good choice here and hope to enjoy countless good times in this truck... Nothing is perfect but this truck comes real close .. Maybe MB should have called it the "550 Nirvana"... Hmmm, that's catchy.

GL550 (on order), Ferrari 308GTS, Lexus LX470, Ford Explorer
NJ....Sorry I didn't respond to you sooner. I spent the weekend buried in the 600 page owners manual and the 200+ page COMAND Operators Manual, beside looking for any excuse to drive " Mein Biest " There are so many toys to play with that I haven't yet concentrated on the Spt/Comf switch. i've done the important stuff like talk to the voice command "lady" so she can understand my Brooklyn accent (Three=Tree). I probably spent the better part of an hour on the three zone climate control and then decided.....Auto it is. The multi contour seats have a control that inflates the side bolsters and you can just about lock yourself in. The customizable adjustments seem to be endless. I have a few hundred miles on the truck and I've been a bit more aggressive with the throttle and now noticed a healthy deep throated V-8roar from the motor. So far so good I'm really impressed, As I 've said before...my wife drives a Lexus SUV LX470, a nearly perfect vehicle. The comparisons should be interesting. Pics....Jack....thank you for offering to help me upload pix. I think the trouble is the huge resolution. I'm working on it

I was interested in the "deep throated V8 roar" also and glad you mentioned it. The S550 has a nice tempered roar and I was just wondering how they tuned the exhaust for the GL. Apparently it is close to the S sound (maybe a little meaner) which is nice to listen to.

Thanks and no problem jb. I am pretty familiar with most of the buttons and the NAV having owned a S430 with a similar system.

SL500, GL550, Escalade, 66 Corvette
I used to drive a new red Corvette with a throaty exhaust. It wasn't uncommon for cops, in any part of the country, to follow me just waiting for me to sneeze. Several would even flash their lights at me even if I was going less than the speed limit, probably just to let me know they were watching. I'm now driving a silver SL500, and the only recognition I get from the cops is a wave or a thumbs-up. I'm hoping to get the same treatment when we get our GL550 next month.
