Train Delivery Time From Alabama

Our salesman at the dealership is not real computer savvy. We finally got a hold of somebody at the dealership who looked it up on netstar and said our GL550 was put on a train bound for the Bay Area on October 11. From there, I understand they have to wait until they get a truckload to ship it to Reno. This could take several days after it gets off the train.
If I add the "several days" for the truck ride to the train ride time, I should get a good idea of when I'll see the vehicle. I just can't figure out how long the train takes.

Congratulations! You ought to bring it out to the Vegas event next weekend. We don't have a Pewter GL in attendance yet. There's a convoy heading East from So. Cal on Friday you could join. What you say Nish and Newbie_2_MB... could Puggy pull his 550 in behind your 450's?

We can’t make the Las Vegas meet as we have a pretty busy schedule between now and the Christmas holidays. I have less free time since retirement than when I was gainfully employed.
Now... stop scaring me about retirement. If my life were to get any busier in retirement than what I'm already experiencing, I don't want to retire.

Hoping to see those new 550's on Friday!

I guess we can officially say...

Dinner at Rao's Friday night will be so much sweeter now. Hopefully, that Silver one will come in before you leave.
See you in Vegas!

Jokes aside, great news, WS. See you and your 550 in a couple of days.

We were out on the freeway and I got the GL up to speed (no more than 55 mph, of course). At that [point, I looked over at Dodson, laughed maniacally, reached over and deftly pushed the EJECT button on the dash.
Instead of the roof panel sliding back and the passenger seat shooting up through the roof (ala James Bond), all that happened was the Command screen folded forward and the CD popped out of the dash.
Maybe the dealer can fix this. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
So, we’ve got that goin’ for us.
Oh yes, it is awesome.
