IPOD Video to RSE question
How do I get the IPOD video to play on the RSE monitors?
Not having a problem with other televisions in the house but can not get "video out" of the IPOD to work on the RSE monitors.
Burned DVD's work fine .................

Cables
jbondox..... thanks for the reply.
Cable does have video and as a matter of fact Apple has told me that only their ipod cables will work..... which is not true. Interesting fact is they (Apple) switched the RED and yellow feeds on their cable vs. a normal cable from any video camera. In other words, the RED RCA out is the Video(YELLOW) on any other cable when connecting to a ipod.
Anyway I did purchase the Apple cable before discovering the switch.................... interesting marketing by Apple.

The video function on the ipod now works great with the RSF monitors !!!!! My problem was not selecting the correct AUX with the remote.

Jerry - I cant help you with the IPOD, since it wont be 'til Christmas before I'll get our first IPOD/video for the family/kids. However, I'm glad to hear that your burned DVDs worked fine. I continue to have NOT broken through with playing burned DVDs on my R320 RSE (which I assumed to be same/identical with your GL system). Please let me know what you use in terms of software(s), hardware/burner, media, settings, and any break-through tips (do's and dont's) that you know.
Yes, I have received helps from several posters (especially Nish) but still no luck for me. It must be my "limited" software skills and/or software/hardware that I have.
Thank you.

RDriver - good to hear from you and sorry that you still haven't had any luck. But it looks like iPod video might be a better way to go then the burned DVDs anyways.
Offtopic - but anyone else wonder what our kids will grow up like when they have iPod for movies at 5 years of age?

No, it won't. But an iPod video will work through the RSE as mentioned above. The iPod integration kit is just for tunes. But I'm sure there is a hack out there that can make it work on the command screen! Not advised for obvious reasons.

However, you can plug in your iPod to the DVD drive and then watch the video on rear seat DVD monitors. You should be able to use any 1 pin to 3 pin RCA wire just make sure to reverse the red and yellow as Jerry pointed out below.

But Oknish won't connecting it to Aux only play on one of the monitors? I think he wants to play the ipod on both of the rear screens at the same time.

oops maybe I was wrong about that. I thought dj said "coomon" but maybe he meant "command.
But my ques still stands. When you hook the ipod up to aux doesn't it just play on one screen? Can you direct output to both screens? Sorry if it's a silly ques, I don't have my GL yet!!

Rse
I'm a very slow learner with this stuff ................
Two things that are new to me---
1) When playing the IPOD video (aux 1) it only works on one monitor.
2) I can play IPOD video (aux 1 ) on one monitor and at the same time play a dvd on the other. Not sure about the audio.
Hummmm .................

Jerry/Patsy - you can direct any input (DVD drive, Aux 1 or Aux 2) to any or both monitors. Check the manual. It is not very intuitive. I haven't played with it in a while but will look today.

Thanks oknish
oknish,
I should have read the manual.
Works great as you said. I'm really liking the RSE system and the flexibility that it offers.
It's really hard to impress the grandkids when I have to go the manual to operate things like this RSE. Oh well .........
