EZ pass help

Newer member here having trouble with my EZ Pass on our 2007 GL450? The windshield is the IR reflecting winshield whcih seems to be the problem. My question is has anyone else had this problem and is there any solutions? I heard there may be a couple of spots on the windshield that are IR free? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I know on my '08, there are 3 spots on the windshield that are clear for this purpose. One is near the RV mirror. Your OM should show their location.

I have not had any problems with the EZ pass and radar detectors after I read the OM and found the holes in the IR shield.

I exchanged my window mount EZPass transponder for one that mounts on the license plate in the front of the vehicle.

The "opening" to the right ( passenger ) side of the rear view mirror is, as in the picture, very small- I couldn't mount my radar detector high enough in the windshield for it to work properly . I don't like mounting on driver's side ( where the radar worked fine) because it impairs the sun visor's full opening range and placing it on the bottom center blocks the AC system's sun angle sensor. Why couldn't the right side opening be larger ?
