Forcast for zip code 85259 (that'd be Scottsdale, Arizona) is as follows for the next few days;

Day Hi/Lo
Tue 77/51
Wed 74/53
Thu 73/57
Fri 68/56

Bit of a cold snap coming in by this weekend. Now, I'll be in the UK from Thursday to Sunday, where the high is about 45, and the low is about 43, and it'll be raining the whole time, so my hind quarters will be ice but when I get home they'll thaw out.

Enjoy your weather!

I wonder if it is cold in VT, blittle

Forecast calls for it to be mid 80s in LA tomorrow.

Have a fun trip, STP. See if you can spot any GLs.

Well ,pics to posted when I get back home......current temp here is 18 above.
The GL was amazing as it dealt with packed snow, and ice covered hills on my good ole one lane back road! Stayed in 1-2 gear most of the way....never slipped or felt like I was not in control. Biggest disapointment......my right side headlight washer quite working

One thing I've learned.......if you are on a very "twisty" off pavement road AND it's covered with ice and snow like the one I travel to get up here.......AND you want to use your trans. buttons on the wheel to control your down hill speed, etc. THEN make sure you know where that button is because as you are making rather tight turns the, wheel is out of "normal" postion and the downshift button may be at, let's say "one o'clock,"..........it can be a little confusing in a rush to maintain control I'll post a couple of pics when I get back to Pa. 10 above here this Am. I really miss my right side headlight washer

Back home in Pa......here are some pics. of our adventure in Vermont: The road is pure ice and packed snow......had been plowed buy a guy with a pickup. Mountain cliff to the left and drop-off to the lake to the right......had to slog through a water/ice hole in the road.....about 7in. deep. Raised the GL up 1 notch and had no problems. The GL traction system handled the conditions very well.......max speed of 15mph, kept it 1st and 2nd gear.....ESC system turned OFF. Like all snow situations.....the worst thing you can do is stop (like I did to take the pictures!) The 4matic has to vary the application of torque to get you moving again.....and if you have no traction at all you can sort of "pinwheel" .....not a good idea on a road like this! Have had
many other vehicles on this road over the years and nothing had handled it as well as the 450 with the ORP

That is a HDR Asian...I have the HDR tiff or I could send you the normally exposed RAW image. I think the tiff may be too large to email.

You should send that image to JW Marriott. At a minimum, you should get a free night.

Gorgeous Jack. Just gorgeous.

Thanks Brian...that ran through my mind believe it or not. I frequent their casino from time to time...ought to be worth some free pulls on the $10 machines...LOL

BTW, they have another tower to the right...the casino is the little roofed building in the center.

Be Like Jack

Remember all of those Nike commercials back in the 90's (Be Like Mike)? Well, for a lot of us in the point-and-shoot crowd, we'd like to be like Jack (or Scotty, or Wordsmith, or...).

Anyway, we got what we consider light snow here in Evergreen yesterday. Today, we had those glorious blue skies that we all love. Thought you might like the picture below. It was taken from the 1st floor of our house looking out a 2nd floor window that is centered on a Ponderosa pine.

Elk Hunt

And... for those of you who would like to enjoy an elk hunt from the comfort of your GL, feel free to pull up to our front yard and have at 'em. I don't think you can miss.

Jack, another amazing photo. I am jealous of your photo ops there in the desert. I think you need a "cow tag" to shoot those elk in Brian's yard.

I complement your great skill in learning how to use the systems. I can hardly wait until I visit my daughter again in Oakhurst (right outside Yosemite) They got 8" of hail and then two feet of snow on top of it. Now that would have been a test!

More than just a test.......more like the final exam!!! Like final exams....I think I'd would want to avoid that one! The only previous vehicle that I have owned that compares with the GL's capability was a Landcruiser. Common sense and knowledge of the vehicle limitations usually means success in the winter. The systems on the GL450 are fantastic, but, the right tires essential and some conditions are such that nothing is going to move.
