Patsy! where are you??

I'm waiting to hear how you like your new ride!

You must be spending the whole weekend driving around!

And reading the owner's manual!

C'mon! Let us all know how much you love it!

And reading the owner's manual!
I can relate to that--I nearly got a migraine going thru the manual. Patsy is probably sipping on some coffee just reading away!

Give him some time... He is probably too busy/excited installing all his accessories...

You guys are tooooo funny. I feel so loved! I know, it's really the love of the GL.

Ok, since this is the first post I am reading since my brief hiatus, let me say this, OH MY GAWD! (Misc. other expletives).

I am freaking out. First, it was a cruel joke to have the car deliviered this weekend for several reasons. 1.) crappy weather on Friday here in NJ 2.) It was my wife's birthday so away the whole weekend and returned late Sunday 3.) I had to work late Monday. So today was the first day I really enjoyed my car.

Ok, not completely true. Last night after the kiddies went to bed I opened the closet and started installing: chrome fins, chrome switch covers, MB floor liners, Weather Tech 3rd row floor liner, chrome cross bars, AMG Pedals, AMG License Plate Holders & wheel locks. Tomorrow I am installing the custom painted center caps for the wheels (radusadirect) and I might remove the 4MATIC from the rear.. I am also waiting for Jerry (formymercedes) to get his shipment of "new chrome" in so I can install the front/rear headlight trim.

Today was the first time I drove the GL since bringing it back from the dealership, man was that torture. I must say, I have owned many vehicles and usually drive new, my wife even has an 07 X5, NOTHING compares to this. The ride, handling, power, refinement, completely blow my mind. After installing everything last night I sat in the truck until 1am just listening to music, playing with the gadgets and smelling the new leather. I haven't had it long enough to properly review everything but my early assesment is WOW. I have a small office and everyone came down today to check out the GL and their jaws dropped. When I was drivng through town today on the way to work, everyone was checking it out. I felt like a rock star.

Unfortunately I didn't get to take any pictures yet. When I picked it up Friday it was dark out and snowing. Today it is also ugly here. Looks like first shot at pics will be this weekend and I'll have to clean it up first! Don't worry, pics are coming. Tonight I have to catch up on the zillion posts that I have missed since Friday morning.

I am loving it. Thanks for thinking of me.

Yeah! Like some torture! Glad you so enjoy it. Just chiecking out all the features and gadgets is a rip by itself.

Enjoy every fresh moment Patsy. It's amazing how quickly it gets dirty. Sadly, I no longer freak out when I drop a french-fry,

You are a better man than I! I absolutely lose it when ... oh, wait, you mean because of the leather, not because of the french fry. Sorry. Never mind.

My wife has solved that problem - Put a shower curtain under the grandkids car seats (3) in the back seat.

You are one funny dude Patsy.

If that rule makes it past one month, you should write a book. You would make millions!

I'm fortunate to have not experienced this yet, as my one Lab gets carsick very easily. I've learned not to feed the boy before I transport him and that has helped, but I'm sure one of these days, he'll baptize the GL .

Thanks guys you gave me a good idea. I am getting some of those airline barf bags and will put them in the seat pockets in front of the passengers. I will then record on cd a brief statement about motion sickness and in the event the GL cannot be safely pulled over to the shoulder, instructions on how to proceed with the "elimination of foodstuffs". I'll play it at the beginning of each journey. Maybe even make the passengers sign a "detailing" contract. May not be effective with the canine passengers.

Yet another great idea for your forthcoming book.
