sirius in a GL450 issue
Anyone knows of a solution for the Sirius Sat radio in the GL450 when you press the info button to show channel,artist song etc and you move to another channel the info goes away and you have to press it again every time you change the channel to see the info again.
Is there anyway to keep the info up at all times even when you change the channels??

On most other car brands , the screen shows preset number,SAT channel number , name of channel ,music format , song title / artist and date song released - ALL on the same screen .
Why MBZ doesn't show it on it's GL big screen is beyond belief.

All Sirius Radio devices (including the free ones they give away if you sign up for service) display all the info as everyone mentions. We paid for the Sirius Radio option, yet it doesn't function like all the other devices out there. I think we should let MB and Sirius know we are not happy. It should be a simple software fix.

Count me in too, on signing the petition. I wonder, however, if such a petition should be signed by "paying subscribers" of Sirius. Many of us, like me, may still be in that six month period where we're receiving complimentory subscriptions. I would think paying customers would carry more weight, but what do I know

We are " paying subscribers " to MBZ's bank account . MBZ should be working on a simple software patch to allow this info to be displayed on one screen. But knowing how slowly they responded ( or lack of response ) to dismayed E class owners in 2003 when the updated model no longer came with previously available radio station " preset scroll " on the steering wheel buttons , I'm not counting on a software " retrofit " any time soon , if at all.

There wasn't a retro fix as far as I remember . Furthermore it wasn't until model year 2005 that they finally responded to griping from Eclass owners and added back preset scroll .

This too drives me NUTS and it's the only complaint I have so far in my 1 week of ownership (guess it could be worse). I just don't get why they did it that way. They have the room for it. I hope they can fix it with a software update. How do we collectively complain, besides just crying loudly?
