GL550 at the NY auto show vs what is available
I found my pics of the GL550 finally, Why did they decontent the production version? This one looks a lot nicer (nappa ventilated leather, off road pkg, etc).

Not sure on the leather, but I don't think the ORP was being ordered by too many customers of the 450. Also, probably didn't make much sense to put ORP on a vehicle with 21" wheels with low profile tires.

As I understand it (if that is the NY show car) it was a 450 Premier with all the exterior 550 goodies but not really a GL550 produced on the line. GL Fahrer may be able to clarify that point.

The pre-production model we saw at the NYAS was built prior to the commitment to have 21" rims standard on the V8+. Once approved, the larger AMG wheels were made standard and the off-road package was removed.
