Any of you SoCal GL owners interested in getting together for a mini meet over lunch? We can meet, eat and take some pics. I was thinking of meeting next weekend (12/29, 12/30) or 12/31.

I don't have any particular location in mind but we should aim for somewhere in middle especially if our brethren from OC (paging CommanderCody) will join.

 

I am down to meet up, however that weekend wouldnt work for me

 

Post the dates that work for you and I am sure we can find a date that will work for most.

 

Basically any weekend works for me just not that one

 

Unfortunately, I'll be in Colorado from the 27th through the 5th. Visiting family and tearing up the slopes. Too bad I can't rent a GL while Im there, but I did get a Q7, and it's pretty fun to play with too.

I'd certainly be up for a meet though so we can get some photos. I still have to show you the chrome switch-plates on mac.

That's interesting as I'll be in Illinois from the 26th - 1st. Maybe I should rent my 550 to you for the week.

Going to be up north in Yosemite with my kids (26 and 33) and picking up my new lab pup. We lost Raja, our beautiful lab friend for 12.8 years a few days ago. She put up a tough fight to the end. So we just had to have a new rider for our GL to get the mats dirty and I get a chance to test my snow driving skills! I will have a new avatar to show you all after the new year.

 

I was raised up in the mountains of Colorado, driving at around 9500 feet above sea level all year long, so I'm not your typical "California" Driver if you know what I mean .

Thanks for the offer on the rental, but I'm looking forward to playing around in the Q7 for the week. I remember from last winter that I really enjoyed it's cabin Tech, it just handled way too car-like for my tastes. Kind of like the X5. What really stood out was the clicky-scroller controls on the steering wheel that VW/Audi have developed, and I think it's something MB could learn from to enhance the way we move through some of these menus while driving.

I don't know about you, but sometimes I like to browse the iPod library when stuck in traffic , and it's tough to move quickly through the artists with the current button configuration in all of MB's cars. The S has the wheel, but the iPod doesn't show up on the center screen .

I am still pondering another dog after losing Barney the Beagle about a year ago. Looking forward to seeing images of your new companion for the GL.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. We are very excited! Interim picture sent by my daughter who did the on-site evaluation. She picked out Raja also when she was a pup. She is a good picker! Blond does go witha pewter GL, Right???

I'm so very sorry about Raja. Just know that she'll be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge and I'm sure she's playing with my 2, Hudson & Shadow, who are at the Bridge as well.

I just love your new addition -- puppies are just so adorable and I'm such a Lab lover (in fact, my license plates on the GL are a heart-shape and LABZ).
