Our neighbor has a v8 Touareg, and while it is a nice vehicle, there is no luggage space and the back seats are tight. This is an apples to oranges debate.

These two vehicles are not even in the same market as to size or interior space. Look on this forum for a comparison with the Cayenne. Forum opinions and answers are there and then test drive both of the vehicles and all your questions/concerns/comparisons will be anwered.

The ML versus Toureg is an easy choice. The Toureg is at least 1000 lbs heavier than the ML so performance advantage goes to Mercedes.
Presitge? Well, no offense to VW owners, but this is a Mercedes Club forum, and most would rather push a Mercedes than drive a VW If you want to stick with diesel, then seriously look at the ML320CDI.
Ultimately, it's personal preference and you should test drive and look at both vehicles in person. There's definitely styling differences and you might rule one out just based personal taste.

Thanks guys But ML sucks, i drive it 5 days, too much plastic there, for this reason i ask for GL, not for bigger laguage, but for the quality of the interior. I dont need 5088 mm lenght car like GL in Sofias streets. ML is ideal like size but the quality of the interior is terrible, is not a Mercedes. For this reason i am looking for a GL.

Don't worry be happy
I do not understand what you are asking here. This is a Mercedes forum so of course we're all biased towards Mercedes. The Toureg is a nice people mover but does not have the prestige of a Mercedes.. at least not in the US. Quality on the GL is expected to be very good as the truck was launched after Mercedes found their quality groove again. Aftermarket values will follow a depreciation schedule initially set by the MSRP, demand and build quality so expect used GL's to be highly sought after. Diesel GLs (in the US) will be one of the most rare MB's to find in recent years. Personally I couldn't fathom the idea of purchasing the Diesel Toureg for a $30K premium over the base Toureg. Audi R10 diesel technology or not. Since you have already ordered your car be happy with your decision. If the car makes sense for you, what we think should not matter.

hehe.. as mentioned above the gl and the ml (the new one) have almost identical interiors. the only difference is that the gl is longer and offers third row seating suitable for adults also, in my experience the gl drives much smaller and at least to me feels quieter and better muted.
