2009 GL Order Guide (subject to change)

http://www.benzblogger.com/labels/GL-Class.html

If this is a re-post pls delete. I didn't find it with a search.

It looks like the P1 package is picking up some more content.

Nice find, cleek. I like the expanded standard feature list including rear door child safety locks. I know a lot of folks here were surprised by the lack of them in 07 and 08 models. Power lumbar control, built-in BT, and, in dash DVD/CD changer as well as SD Card reader are my favorites.

Agreed, oknish.

I'm trying to decide between the '08 and the '09.

The '09 is a pretty good value.

It seems that the '09 P1 will add Voice Control, the iPod kit and Keyless Go to the bundle as well for an additional $200. These are ~ $2K of options on the
'08.

Bundled BT knocks off another $400, The existing BT module has a very little shelf life left, so all of the dealers are throwing those in on the '08 offers.

Here's the pdf file. I'm thinking about getting the 09 MY as well.

I agree, cleek. IMO, it sucks that they have discontinued Distronic . Guess I will be waiting another year

You guys are AMAZING
My dealer hasn't even call me yet with the update.
hopefully they'll throw incentive to make it more interesting , which I doubt.
2 more months before the delivery of my 550.

Thx very much for the PDF, cuibap. The MB product management team did a great job of highlighting the improvements and additional value.

As I review the detail, I see that all of the extra content is available with P2 for a $50 increase. The '09 is looking like an even better value.

Does anyone have an educated guess on '09 MSRP? My SWAG ~$1-2K increase due to improved standard content and materials pricing.

OT: if anyone comes across a stripped '08 GL320 or GL450 (no P1 or P2), pls ping me. I have a friend who is looking for a project platform.

You're welcome, cleek. I asked but there's no MSRP yet as of yesterday. I'm waiting for the last few months to get my hands on the 09MY GL450 and can't take anymore Looks like to me that the 09MY is a winner.

I don't think I could take the leap of faith to use the Distronic.

The first-time-user pucker factor must be off the charts.

Thanks for the PDF.

A slight disappointment that they kept the GL550 RIMS. I think the GL550 would look even better with the 09 ML AMG rims. I guess we'll have to wait for the mid-facelift arriving next year. Any photoshopper around willing to give it a try?
Oknish : I ll get my 07 GL450 (with distronic ) next week. Bought it from a member. Already making plans to sell it, as I want the 550. Must be

I don't know if anyone noticed. Looking close at the Command window, it appears that it doesn't have soft buttons. Does that mean that it's touchscreen? does anyone know?

CONGRATS, Bart. And, I can totally understand your want of the 550. Looking at the 09 options (including Nappa and ventilated seats), I am very strongly tempted myself.

The new COMAND does not have a touch screen... it still will have the circular switch on the lower right but I am sure they replaced that "joy stick" debacle in the center which never allowed you to get the right selection the first time.
