Low range and mid and rear diff locking systems...???

Not in the USA.

Of course in the rest of the world yours is a GL500 in any event.

Thats not good...does this off road package really makes big diff ???

Here Euro GL500 cost 250k and US 160k...

In Canada it does, and the off-road package is an option.

Looking at Gentspy's pics, it looks like in China also 550 comes with AMG wheels and low profile tires.

I hear ya. But, if you look at his pics, you will notice there are way too many cars at the his "dealer" for this to be a grey market operation, IMO. Looking at pics of his sticker, etc. too lead me to believe that this may not be grey market.

Since the 450 is the only official import according to the MB China website, lack of metric guages, lack of international pictograms on the controls, I would have to say it it certainly a US car. How it got there, only Gentspy can clarify, but the 450 stickers for 1,350,000 RMB, IIRC more than he paid.

If you know someone and are prepared to pay him, you can get what ever you want in Moscow. I have a close friend who is project managing the construction of a building in Moscow. He says that country has got scams and corruption schemes going on that we are generations behind in even dreaming up here.

The "average" Russian isn't driving a GL and the ones who are getting them don't have to worry about the cost.

We a lot going on but I dont agree...that the ones who can get GL...dont have to worry about how much it costs...I wish car costed here like in USA )))
