Blackberry Storm integration with Bluetooth puck?

Does anybody have the Blackberry Storm phone yet and if so, does it integrate with the Bluetooth puck? I'd like to get the phone, but only if it will work with the puck.

It should integrate. My Bold integrates with my Bluetec via the puck. The phone also connects to the new GL, SL.

the Storm should support the Handsfree profile and you should even be able to transfer the contacts from the Storm to the car.

Good Luck. let me know how you like the phone, I personally didn't like it.

Thanks; I haven't seen one in person yet. What did you not like about it?

It should work, Jen. I haven't gotten my hands on Storm yet so don't know if I will like it or not. I do see a new smartphone in my near future

Hope all is well.

The screen was a big dissapointment, it also was quite hard for me to type on. The click screen idea is pretty cool, just needs to be developed further.

Also, it took me forever to get anything done on it. Its slow, the graphics lag, and the accelerometer responds slowly. I am sure much of this will be addressed with software revisions. Also, no Wi-Fi, GPS is locked to crappy *** VZW Navigator. Interational roaming is also a big no no with Verizon, so you are forced to pay their asinine roaming fees.

Its a good phone, just not up to par with my Bold IMO.

Thanks for the review! I may wait a little while then, for the bugs to get worked out.

Thanks Nish! I'm off to NYC tomorrow afternoon through Dec. 2. I'll have my laptop with me, so I can report on how many GL's I see in Manhattan

Jen, try the phone for yourself, you may like it. The beauty of having a BB is that you can update the software (firmware) as its released.

I looked at those, but unfortunately, I'd have to change my plan with Verizon in order to get the phone. Not sure I want to cough up more money to Verizon just for the phone.

Weird, I must've been on a really old plan. I'm paying a little less a month on the new one.

Of course, I'm not bothering with stuff like email and such just now. Might in the future. Dunno.

You know what is worth switching for though? Something called an iPhone 3G. Best phone I've ever had.

To keep it on topic, yes it works with MB Bluetooth.

I think there are a lot of people who would switch in a heartbeat if AT&T's network were as reliable as Verizon's.

My niece has the iPhone & loves it, but AT&T doesn't work at my house.
We're even though as my Verizon doesn't work at her house!

If Fedex comes through I'll have a Storm tomorrow. I've been debating a new phone for months and months, finally decided. I've been with AT&T/Cingular for over 10 years, but am switching to Verion. The main reason is Verizon is buying Alltel - which is a dominating rural carrier. AT&T works most everywhere I go, except riding horses around our rural areas. Alltel is king there, the network is compatable with Verizon. AT&T has the advantage of having repeaters in our building (4500 employees under one very large roof). Blackberries have the advantage of allowing me on our corporate network. I love many features of the iphone, but not being able to tether, not being able to connect to my corporate network, and to a much lesser extent having a captive battery kept me away.

I have 30 days no questions asked to see how it all works, I'll let you know.

And I thought I was the only one with all these decisions I have decided to stick with a BB for work. They just can't be beat for all the email/calendar use I put them through. For me it's either an iPhone 3G or G1 (soon). Just need to test drive the G1 before I decide.

Yes, I am a computer geek who loves gadgets. The G1 isn't an option since T-mobile isn't very strong around here.

The Storm is at the local Fedex facility so looks like I'll get it today. I'll keep you posted.

Yes, please keep us posted. I'm on a wait list for the Storm with a ship date of Dec 15. I've heard that the software is not quite ready for prime time and the device is a bit sluggish. I'd be interested in hearing your impressions.

I finally played with a colleague's Storm today at lunch. Looking forward to your first impression too.

I was able to get my greasy fingers on one of those the other day. It's a very nice phone, don't get me wrong, but I don't think the exterior design is up to par. The Android OS is pretty cool though.

Seems like we're all a bunch of geeks here!

No kidding. I guess next thing to do is compare whose camera can take the pics with most megapixels? Or who has the most storage at home?

OK, sorry I've been playing.

I can tell you that the Storm hooked up and paired with the GL without an incident. So no worries there.

I've had it for essentially 24 hours now and I am favorably impressed. It does seem a little sluggish at times, not necessarily all the time when switching between menus and going from vertical to horizontal. I wouldn't say I'm annoyed by it, but I did notice it.

There is a lot to learn about this phone. I have corporate e-mail working now with the BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server), have synced my calendar to Lotus Notes (hey, I work for IBM, you don't expect outlook to you), have synced my Contact list from Outlook (long story here, but I migrated my Razr2 to Outlook and then from Outlook to the Storm.

The Verizon network here has already proven itself to be much more reliable and stronger. I'm in my basement right now and getting connected where with AT&T I had no chance of that.

NET: The first 24 hours have been good for me.
