No one touch seat memory??

My X5 used to change seat positions with one touch. "1" was for my wife and "2" was for me. In the GL, I have to hold the "2" down until the seat is it position. pretty inconvenient, especially standing in the cold. Is there a way to reprogram this?

I think it's one of those "safety" features MB has come up with to avoid the "safety" feature other cars have where you must be in park (or at least stopped) before the one-touch control will work.

Another "handy feature" brought to you by Ma Benz!

Seat Memory

Agreed - not sure I like the hold down memory feature, but I do like the fact that I can hit while in drive and moving...wifey's Lexus and my old Lexus are 1 touch from park only...although you could link RFID key to memory settings as well in the Lex.

I think that's the new "safety" standard now. My BMW-535 is the same way, unlike my previous X5.

I asked our dealer about this when we got our GL and was told that it couldn't be reprogrammed. It still drives me nuts to this day.

It takes 2-3 seconds of pressing to switch from my wife's preset positions to mine. So far , I haven't developed tendinitis in my finger nor have I been too late for a meeting.

Actually your BMW will let you do it both ways: one touch when in park (or when the driver's door is open) and keep the button depressed if you are moving.
