Pella makes a decent one (the stiff wire in the suction tube slows the extraction rate to a crawl - remove the wire) and if you get a smaller size you may have to empty it 'mid stream'. Harbor Freight sells a metal extraction pump that I bought but haven't used yet. (I'm about to do that)
Remember - the volume of oil to be extracted approaches 9 quarts! (diesel OM642 engine) you also should have that much available to do a proper fill.
All suction extractions should be done with the engine and oil quite warm.

In that case, get an extractor with fairly rigid tubing, as the soft stuff will just get softer and suck closed when heated.

I use the mityvac shop air powered model.

This is good one. I have been using since last three years on BENZ and Toyotas and even lawn mower. it great for many things. it has two function 1)extractor and pump. I would recommend this. Since GL has 9 qts to extract. it needs to done in two shots.

do not use a boat (ie pella and the like) extractors on your car to change oil.

you are not sucking out all the oil as there are baffles in the oil pan. also, the 10k change interval is already stretched and sludge-building-prone and the extractor does not suck the most crucial (dirty) oil from the bottom of the oil pan.

do yourself a favor- if doing it yourself, just raise the vehicle to the highest setting, remove the two most-forward plastic covers and drain the (hot) oil the old fashioned way.

if you dont believe me, suck the oil out, then remove the drain plug in the bottom and observe how much oil comes out.

however, using the extractor to get the oil in the oil filter casing is a good thing...
