Distronic Plus for GL

2007 MB S550 / 2009 Lamborghini LP640
Distronic Plus for GL
I was at the dealer today looking to order a 2010 GL550. I was told that the Distronic Plus was not available for the 550 but you could get it on the 450. Is this right? The top of the line GL has less equipment than the 450?

sorry, didnt finish my post - was also going to add that this feature was removed from all GL-classes in 2009, so I find it surprising they would bring it back at all in 2010 ...

I just looked at the ordering guide, which was updated on 6/19 and there is no mention of distronic available for any GL model. I am however surprised that they took Keyless and Harman/Kardon out of P1 and now made it with P2. They've also gone back to the light birch wood trim.
Let me make a correction: I just spoke to our inventory manager and Distronic will be available as a special order. Apparently MB is taking a "special order" initiative and that is one item that is available.

481--Front and rear underbody skid plates

405--Passenger multicontour seat

214--ADS Adaptive damping system
Y90--Black roof liner
H04--Brown birds-eye maple trim

You simply will not ever get the Distronic in the 550. This is because the radar for the ML snd GL is located in the front MB star and the 550 has a HUGE one, and they simply did not bother to develop a radar just for one model.

Weird though why they would never design a premium feature for a flagship model.....................

Distronic as we all know is different than Distronic Plus. I would pay extra for the Plus but not the "old" Distronic. Has anyone clarified which Distronic is now available on the GL?
