Anyone using a BlackBerry 8230 on Verizon successfully?

Hey all. Just bought my wife an 8230 BlackBerry from Verizon, and can't get the darn thing to pair. The GL550 says it can't find any compatible phones after I enter the passkey on the 8230. Every other BlackBerry I have tried works but this one. Any ideas? I restarted the car and computer, restarted the bluetooth on the BlackBerry and no luck. Thanks!

Try disconnecting & re-installing the BT puck.

No, I was using a generic 0000 passkey, same as every other phone that I have paired up...

Ahh, therein lies the secret! It's called RTFM! (It's also the letters M-B-U-S-A on a telephone keypad, but that just makes it easy to remember.)

BTW, I don't know why but my wife's Blackberry 8830 suddenly decided to get freaky-deaky on us and continuously makes the handsfree think it's on a call, as soon as it pairs. Makes no sense at all and I've tried everything from deleting profiles to removing the space between Blackberry and 8830 on the phone's name. Go fig.

That is interesting, because EVERY other phone (8 in total since we picked the car up in January) has worked with 0000 as a default passcode with no issue whatsoever. Those were the pairing instructions we were given by the service manager when we picked up the car. So, the reason for, as you so politely put, not RTFM...

Sorry, that may have come out wrong (which is why I try not to do that stuff over email) - I was just trying to be funny. But listening to the service manager? We here are all so much smarter than they are!

It was early, and I have been on call so I also took it wrong. Good point about the service manager. I am going to try the MBUSA passkey when I get home...Thanks!
