Its time to buy new 20" rims and tires for GL450
I end up selecting these as our final choice and place an order from Les Schwab. I am getting these intalled on Tuesday next week. Whole package ran me around 3K$. Really exicted. I will post pictures once I get 'em. below shows the picture of the rim and tire that I selected. I will need to get the alignment done cause our orginals are wearing excessively from inside.
Rim: Mandrus Millenium (chorme) 20x8.5 (see picture below)
Tire: 295/45/20 114V Toyo Proxes S/T II (see link below for info)

Your wheels look good, what color is your GL? How do the 20's ride, I have a Cayenne with 19's and I was thinking of upgrading to 20's or 22's but I'm afraid of how the ride will be.

Thanks. Color is Desert Silver.
Today's morning commute was my first ride on the 20's. They are quiet so far. Ride quality is about the same. I would expect the gas mileage will be little less with bigger rims. If you are not towing then you can go upto 22. otherwise I recommend sticking with 20's. I am running 295/40/20. So, the tire has enough hieght to abosrb some of the shock from crossing minor flaw in pavement (potholes, rail crossings, etc).

the only advantage of 20s (over 19s) is that you get more choice when it comes to changing tires..
however, that particular rim is not very... how shell i say... german...
but if you like them - beauty is in the eye of the.. beerholder

I just installed my new 20" Mandrus Mannheim's last week.
If I can do it over again, I don't think I'd get rims with a lip anymore. I pulled up beside another GL with 20" AMG 5 spoke rims without a lip and the wheels looked visually bigger.
Any feedback on these rims?

Hey Blown V8,
Seems like you have a real good knack for the whole wheel/fitment thing.
If you don't mind, could you give me your 2 cents as it relates to outfitting my '12 GL350
with some Mandrus, Velo wheels?
I'm looking at the 22x10s with either Toyo Open Country ATs (305/40/22) or Proxy ST2 OR going down to a 20x10 with 295/50/20.
There are several pros and cons that I'm battling, so..........
Thanks in advance.

295/50/22's will throw the speedometer off 8.8% but 295/40/22's will only be off by 1.2%. The 305/40/22's are are more common size, less expensive, and is only 2.3% off the stock tire size. The extra width of the 305's will provide slightly better rim protection from curbs.
I'm not a fan of the 10 spoke look of the Velo. To me, the Stuttgart or Mannheim is a much better selection for the GL's looks.

Great info, thanks! With the 22x10 (41 offset) will there be any issues of the rim/tire extending outside the fender? I don't have any type of flares on there.
