Nor sure if the "1 yr FREE license" is of ANY value if your state requires YOU to buy a new license anyway!
Also, $1800 for full front clearguard is what the dealer would have charged for putting 3M chip protection on the car new - the $1800 should be amortized (ie reduced) over the expected life of the car - take 2 yrs life away.
I'm also puzzled by the wording - mfg approved 20 inch wheels. Are the wheels 20 inch and did they come from the factory that way? (check the VIN at http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/s...by_chassis.jsp) If they are not, they have little added value unless you would have bought exactly these yourself anyway.

CA charges license fee based on the value of the car. When you buy a used car the fee is based on your purchase price. Whatever fee the former owner paid is based on his original purchase price minus 10% after year two and each subsequent year. So his $800 fee would be much less for you since the DMV would base it on your purchase price. In addition to saving on sales tax, this is a big reason why people underreport the purchase price of used cars to the DMV. It's a gift that keeps on giving!
The chrome wheels are a matter of taste. To me, I'd rather have the stock wheels so it would be a negative rather than a $2K positive.
The $1.8K for the clear bra seems way overpriced and certainly doesn't hold it's value on a used car.

Seller mentioned premium pkg but i don't think it has one, picture doesn't show that it has steel skid plates and 2008 premium pkg comes with it. It appears that seller is bragging/adding so much to attract customer. i would ask him to provide a window sticker, if he doesn't have any then take the VIN number to a Mercedes dealer and get a copy of window sticker and then post the options and prices on the forum.

Not really, Edmunds shows approximately this vehicle as about $44,000 [San Jose market] as a trade in (the lowest price category). There is obviously some 'wiggle room' in the 43K asking price. If you REALLY WANT IT make an offer of about 35-37k and see if the owner shows any interest. Keep in mind that large SUVs - gas powered - decrease in value rapidly as the price of gas climbs. The general economy also depresses the price as fewer and fewer unemployed folks are able to pay the fuel bill!Originally Posted by perdesi

What is the service date? If the current owner bought this in 2007 then mileage looks OK. But if they bought in 2008 then it looks to be a high mileage vehicle, at least to me.
And, I don't think it has the Premium package. Only Parktronic and rear camera.
