GL450 Purchase

Folks -

I'm looking to purchase a GL450 in the next week or so. My question is it seems to be hard to find a car w/ the options I would really like - ie:

White / Tan
P2
Lighting
Running Boards

My dealer finds other additional items but can't seem to locate a car on the West coast w/ all the above.

So - the best match does NOT have the Lighting Pkg. Any thoughts on how important the HIDs are and/or how good the Halogen Headlights are on the GL? I have had HIDs on everything I own since 2001 - so I'm a bit bummed about this..

Thanks!
Alex

You will regret passing on the HID'S.

Thanks - me thinks you are right..

The other one that is on my must have list is the running boards - BUT I'm not that keen on the 20" wheels that they are paired w/ in the Appearance Pkg. But again - no one seems to have them as a standalone option..

If you have young kids or elderly that you usually transport, running boards are a MUST.

I got the Appearance Pkg and my 3 1/2 year old daughter LOVES the running boards.

The Lighting Pkg was also a must have for me.

Running board is a must if you have kids or always use the third row. I thought 19" wheels were big when it was included in the appearance pkg in our '07 models, but now 20"? When will it stop?

HID is a good feature to have, must have past up many good deals on models w/o them which lead me to think why they had to discount them in the first place.

It IS possible to add running boards afterward - there are a couple of threads on this and it is apparently not that difficult. So that is an option if you don't want the pothole sensitivity of the 20" wheels. But I agree the HIDs are GREAT and if you are used to driving with them on other cars you will go crazy driving at night if you get a car without them (and they are NOT that easy to self install).
So, hold out for the HIDs, aftermarket for the running boards.
Good luck!

Just got a call - they *may* have located a P2 / Lighting / Running Board (standalone) car. Should hear back later today..

Fingers crossed..
