anyone running 305/40/22 tires?
i did a quick search and found only one person who was running 305/40/22 on brabus monoblock e's.
was thinking about running 22x10 et40 wheels on my 09 gl550 and can't really decide on the tire.
i'm thinking about running 305/40/22 since the tires are much cheaper than the 285/35/22, and also the load rating on the 305's are 114 vs the 285's which are only 106.
for reference stock 21" amg's are 111 load rating, 21x10 et37

MBZ 22x10 SILVER WHEELS RIMS 5x112 +50 offset
Its gonna go on a silver GL450. i'd really like to put 305/40s for that beefier look. not to mention more tire choices. do i have to get fender flares. will it rub? will it look too wide?- thanks!

Mine rubbed very slightly for a couple of weeks but it was nothing to be concerned over. I only noticed when I was parking the car and turning the wheel all the way to the right or left. It only made contact at the back bottom front fender liner. It's made of plastic and wore away where it made contact. The tire does not rub anymore.

Thanks very much ... I am going to purchase the duellers 305/40/22. From what I hear there the most comfortable and quiet ride .. Iam running now 285/35/22 on yokohama avid and there horrible... That's why I asked if the 305 would fit... Thanks again

I want to put on some rims that 22 x 10 offset 41 with 305/40/22 tires, how far did the wheels stick out pass the fenders? Was it noticeable? Any issues besides fully locked turns? Do you have any pics?

no real issues besides the fender liner getting rubbed on fully locked turns.
and sorry no pictures yet, but if you are in the san jose bay area i'd be more than happy to meet up and let you see them in person.

Mahalo spdracer.
I'm over in the Kaimuki area, about 5 miles from Ala Moana.
My in-laws live in San Jose, and I'm up there several times a year. Pretty coincidental I must say. Did you get your GL from the Smythe dealership?
