Illuminated Running Boards
Has anyone installed the illuminated running boards (MB part# B6 688 0947)? If so, how much are they and how difficult are they to install?

wow! That's exactly what I was waiting for...I already paved the wires/fuse from the rear dome bulb to the running board locations(and I knew an MB OEM part was on the way...). I tried some aftermarket puddle LEDs but none has worked out (well...they just looked "aftermarket").. I'll definitely give a try on it if it's reasonably priced.

I believe it is a separate kit and not part of the actual running boards, which are sold/ installed separately. Check out page 7...https://pictures.dealer.com/mbzvalen...a8f344f842.pdf

They are fully separate from the running boards, and my dealer said they could not get them yet as of last month

I suspect it requires drilling if not a stick-on(which I don't expect), also the running boards will need to be removed in order to get the LEDs installed on the upper plastic part of the RB.

That running board looks really nice. Where can I get one installed in Los Angeles area?! How much should I expect to pay?!

I haven't see this offered as a factory option, which makes me think that production is low to nil. But I hope I'm wrong, as this would be a great addition to the GL.

I was quoted $630.00 parts only by my dealer. How labour intensive is the install?

I know for the C class illuminated sills the install would've been +5 hours and included soldering, etc.
