BRABUS Exhaust installed on Mercedes GL

Thanks Rob, for selling the Brabus exhaust to me....my wife wanted a meaner sound, and there aren't too many options for an exhaust for the GL, so picked up the Brabus. It has a low growl and is pretty conservative compared to my Eisenmann Race exhaust on my M5, but definitely sounds nice.
I may consider X pipes....depends on what the wife wants

not sure why vid is not embedding....

Pretty much, although the stock section 3 pipes had to be cut, and the Brabus exhaust then slides over and then clamped....took about 30 min. for shop to install.

On a side note, after driving the car for a day, both my wife and I would say that the exhaust is pretty conservative....I'll be looking into X pipes to remove the resonators...anyone know who makes them for the GL?

I'd bet you're going to have to go custom, but that shouldn't be a problem for most exhaust shops. And sweet pics / vids; thanks for posting them!

You are right....I don't think companies will make X pipes for the GL, probably because I'd be the only one buying it. Most owners are soccer moms
In any case, if it is done custom, it would just be a matter of cutting resonators out and straight piping it....wife is having second thoughts and may just stick with the low growl.

NEVER would have called that. I've only seen soccer Moms & the occasional guy driving GLs in this part of the world.

... in 2007. Today I drive it around and seek out other men driving these things. I think in the past 12 months, I've seen several dozen GLs driving the Phoenix area (as well as the LA area when I've been over there), and I've seen two men driving them, other than myself. Two. I don't think the Forbes list would be the same today.
