Keyless go -- annoying beeping to remind you to take your key?
I read in the forum that some were annoyed by the beeping (US only) after you turn off the car to remind you to take your key. Is this still the case in the new GL models? I heard the 2011s got new Keyless Go. I don't understand why it would beep to remind you if your key is in your pocket?

I have a 2010 and my GL reminds me to take my key. If you don't have Keyless-Go, it says "remove your key" from the slot, or something like that. You don't have to use the keyless go button if you don't want to. If you want, you can start the car the conventional way by pulling out the keyless-go button and starting the car with the key fob. Either way, a warning error will result.

On my 09 with keyless go, it simply "chimes" once when the door is opened and the display reads, "don't forget your key." It's not loud or annoying. I can't imagine someone complaining about that. It is a good feature for someone that occasionally drives the car because I could see how they could leave the key in the car if they weren't used to not having to grab a key out of the ignition. Having said that, you can't lock the doors from outside with they key inside anyway because the car detects that the key is inside the vehicle.

Thanks this is helpful. Sounds reasonable. Not sure why so many others were complaining about the constant beeping/chiming after one opens the door. I read many who attempted to locate the chime and muffle or disable -- that's what concerned me.
