Leads in getting an '08 GL 320CDI lease turn in

I have been frustrated in picking one up because the production numbers are low and competing with the export market. I have had a few cars sold from my grasp. Africa and South America love diesels as I am being told by dealers.

If anyone is going to turn in their 08 lease, I would be interested in buying the car from them. Looking for Black or dark Blue exterior with running boards and Trailer hitch. Bi Xenons a plus.

Thanks in Advance.

I have traded in an 08 320 CDI with hitch. Black on black. Its at the local MB dealer. They have it as a CPO. No running boards. It has nav. 32k miles. They are asking $52900. Wish I knew you were looking before I traded for an 11 350 Bluetec. No I'm not making anything off it now, but it is on their lot. Let me know if you want more info on it. I can let you know their website with all the details. Good luck looking.

Thanks for helping. I am looking for something local now and considering 09+ because Bridgestone is selling competitively priced runflats in the 20 inch. Price is not that much different between 08 and 09. An extra year's warranty is attractive also. I am not looking to mod. Just a clean car.

^ I have considered that as 08s was my first choice originally. Now finding a clean car like a trailer package but never towed is more important. 09s have harddrive DVD navi and upgraded command center. An extra year's CPO warranty and 10K miles less on the truck is attractive to me for a very small premium.

1. Adblue is cheap at truck stops. There will be an expense of cleaning the tank though.

2. Runflats tires were my biggest concern because the 20 inch Goodyears are $500 a piece. That is how much I pay for track rubber and I refuse to pay that for SUV highway driving. Bridgestone came out with one that is half price and my wife can still drive the truck home even with a flat is a plus in my book.

3. Newer looks. Not much but still nice.

4. Resale value will be better down the road although I am planning to keep it for a while.

I am also looking for a '08 since was not too keen on runflats. Opening up to '09 does give some more options.

But what is the concern with the towing? These things were designed to tow right?

These cars are designed to tow but it is nice to find a used truck that has never towed. Towing, if done incorrectly, can beat a truck up.

2009 GL 320 Bluetec
Autotrader.com & Cars.com; check them everyday. I just bought a 2009 GL320 completely loaded w/14k miles on a lease turn-in at a Lexus dealership in TX for $52,900. Two years left on the warranty + low mileage car, and with the carfax you are able to see all the dealer maintenance on the vehicle.

Congrats! I just bought the 09 from Mercedes of North Haven with 23K miles. CPO up to 100K miles or March of 2014. I paid $52,950. People are quoted up to $4500 on the 100K mile CPO warranty.

Wow - both Shiraz and Chsu - congrats. Sounds like great deals. Gives me hope. Are those OTD prices?

I saw a 08 CDI P1+Tow+19inch Wheel pkg at a N. JErsey dealer. It was listed at $50K, I offered $47.0K with 100K CPO but he would not bite.

Question - Can a given dealer look up full maintenance record with a VIN - as long as maintenance was performed at any MB dealer?

I am surprised that he did not take the offer. I was able to get an 08 in Tampa with 35K miles, clean fax and CPO to 100K for $47.3 but was sold before I could lock it down. After factoring in $2K for transport and flight down from CT, I thought my 09 deal is better.

I would spend time looking at cars on autotrader and find the cars that have been sitting for awhile. Be patient and then offer the price you want. Be prepared to be rejected by dealers as they all know diesels will fetch a higher price as choice are not as much as the GL 450s.

My numbers are all excluding tax, title and reg. Dealer fee was included for the Tampa ride. I paid $300 dealer fee for the 09.

after a big debate on whether to buy my 08 320 or get an 11 350 i decided to hand my 08 in. while it had most options it did not have the xenon lights whihc I really missed. it had 40k miles and buy out was 39.9k, I am sure a dealer was really happy to get that car fo resale, was in great shape and even had a clear bra on it since I had initially planned on keeping it.

^If a potential buyer would compensate the sales tax savings on buying the '11 350, then it is a great deal between two parties.
