First I disagree, the lock does seem to help with bolt/hitch alighment in some way (which I think has to do with why one cannot properly affix the lock when the bolt's torqued down). Second, why are you ordering a new lock?

Well in my earlier post I stated that the lock fell off the first time I pulled the boat using this new hitch/lock combination. It is on the side of the road somewhere......

2011 GL350 Bluetec, Irridium over Black Leather
I snapped some quick pics of the newer hitch design on my 2011 GL350. It definitely looks a bit beefier than what I remember on earlier GLs.
