2009 GL320 Blutec Engine Air Filter - help please...
Folks -
Can someone help me figure out what needs to be done to change the filters out. From looking at it, it looks like a good amount of work (unless i'm missing something!).
I just changed my cabin air filters (that was cake via the engine compartment), now i'm looking at the engine air intake filters.
thanks in advance,
Aceman

This is still in my to-do list, because its a pain in the...
Mine is not a Diesel, but I imagine its similar to yours. You have to remove the strut tower brace, then you have to remove the partition wall. You basically need to make sure that the entire air filter housing is unobstructed from above. Only then, are you supposed to attempt to remove the air filter housing to get to the filters...
When I finally do this next weekend, I'll take pictures.

you need to remove the strut tower brace. then all will make sense.
when you are putting everything back together make sure you have inserted properly (all the way in and not with folded lips) the rubber/plastic intake hoses the connect the airboxes and the engine intake manifold.
the only reset i have done was to reset the proper services in the service menu once the work is done. you dont need a starmark for that.
take your time...

Why anybody is dumb enough to attempt even the simplest maintenance without reference to WIS procedures is beyond me.
Here's what it says in WIS:
Reset quantity mean value adaptation using STAR DIAGNOSIS: Select and execute "Reset quantity mean value adaptation data" in the "Control unit adaptations" menu.

I've simply quoted from Mercedes WIS, i.e. the workshop information system documentation.
You've, however, first misread this information as a service reminder reset and now misread WIS as "sales brochure."
Information I've shared can be of use to the original poster--yours is noise.
Should original poster desire to access WIS for himself, he can start at http://www.startekinfo.com Easiest to use is http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/o...tedDocId=11498
