So Long and Thanks for All the Fish
I don't know where I'll go from here, but I wish all of you the very best of luck. I sincerely doubt I'm gone for good - heck, I was a fairly early member of this particular thread, if I recall correctly - but I won't be speaking from the position of ownership anymore. I do hope you all enjoy your GLs at least as much as I enjoyed mine, and certainly moreso with hopes for a much greater reliability than I have had.
So, so long and ... God bless.

We still have the '08 320 CDI (70K), but keeping a watchful eye on the progress (or lack thereof) of the 2.2L GLK.

Scarecrow, I think I'll miss you most of all!
There, I said it. It's a 2010 as-yet-untitled Prius Five (not the new Prius V with the nicer back, which won't be out until late this year a the earliest) with the Advanced Electronics Package (radar cruise, lane assist, etc. etc.). It's red with a gray interior. It was a bear to find, too, because as you may well imagine Prius production's down to pretty much nil in Japan right now, and as gas prices continue to climb ... let's just say, outside of taxes I've pretty much paid for it with what I sold the GL for (thank goodness I was selling the diesel).
Pictures to come after pickup, if they don't ban me from the forum for posting 'em.
My friend won a lawsuit in Europe with Toyota because his Prius was a gas guzzler.
On highway in highway speed you will always run on gas engine.
Figures they were showing in consumption guide were not reachable.
GLK will be Diesel this year at least for Canada from what I know maybe even for US.
2.2l Diesel no bluetec will beat Prius hybrid.

It is true that hybrids are at their best in city-style driving. The brake energy recovery is critical to how they work.

Can understand the reason for your decision and a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
All the best and look at the bright side of your GL ownership saga - you made some new and great friends.
