2011 GL450

Hello,

First timer and I wanted to ask who has bought a 2011 GL450 recently. The MSRP is $61,950.00 and the best quote I got so far is $9k off which the dealer said this is an employee discount... We selected a black with P2 package. any suggests? thanks.

I think he OP means selling price $61,950. If it's true - the price is good. I'd suggest to get trailer hitch, Blind Spot assist, parktronic and running boards. There is appearance package for GL450, which is nice to have also. MSRP of that car will be north of $75K.

MB is probably trying to liquidate as many of the GL (especially 450/550s) before the 2012s come out.

Just to add my 2c... when I bought my 2011 350, the dealer was trying to push me to get a 450.
He was even going to great lengths giving me a detailed spreadsheet that compares cost differences b/w diesel and gasolene models!
He was also willing to come down heavily on a FULLY equipped 450 - it had ALL options with diamond white.

TL;DR; you might be able to negotiate and squeeze much more on a 450. All dealers seem to have a ton of em.

USAA Incentive

Now USAA just recently added a $6,000 incentive to the GL. ALL models including Bluetec. So that's $500 over invoice, or better if you push the dealer, and then at least $6,000 off that. If anyone is leasing, this may be the best month as the residual is still up pretty high and the money factor is somewhat low.

Good month to buy the GL!

Current or retired military, or immediate family of one, to join USAA. I think that is the only way to be a member.

Thanks for the info.
One more question. I just went o USAA website, registered and became a member. They sent me confirmation e-mail. Does it mean I accepted and eligible for discounts you were talking about ? I never was in US military, and any of my family members as well. I understand the easiest way is just to call them and figure out, just don't have a time at the moment.

Thanks again.

You have to qualify for the discount. You request a certificate from USAA for the discount. Without the PIN number and certificate the dealer won't give you the discount. I'm not sure if they have changed the entrance criteria, but maybe anyone can join and buy the insurance but not all get the discounts? I would call to confirm or maybe others will chime in.

All I can confirm is what the situation was when I joined and how the process was for my discount, which was "only" $3,000 incentive a couple months ago.

For what it is worth, I bought a 2010 GL350 BlueTEC on December 2009 with P2, Xenon lighting, Parktronic, Wood/leather steering wheel, Tow hitch, Side steps, Rear entertainment, and standard paint/MB-tex for $67,993.

How many miles were in the car when you bought? Just curious.

I think he meant it was brand new.
I got almost the same car, but without Rear DVD for $64,700 (MSRP $72,800) 2 months ago brand new - and 3 years maintanance was included in the price.

Did you trade a vehicle? Was at dealer last night, we have a 2007 with P2 and extras, 64k miles, dealer offers 30k for trade, + 43K drive out on 73k GL450. Wondering what others are paying for a new 2011?

P.S.They told me there was a 2006 GL450??
