No More Running Boards!
New 2011 GL450 steel gray/black
Most options, remote start
Esthetics aside:
My mother couldn't balance her feet on the not-so- wide boards, and they were a complete bother to my (tall) legs getting in and out. So I had the dealer for around $900 remove them and install new stock panels in their place. All I get now, besides my comfort, are compliments from passengers that don't have to navigate them getting in and out.
I know many people do like them, so this is my experience and opinion only. Love the truck! (Had an X5 previously)

I'd be interested in these boards. Please send pics to denisavu@gmail.com. I will be in the greater Boston area this weekend. Thanks.

I'm the opposite. I want running boards. If there is anyone local that wants to do a swap plus cash, let me know. I'm willing to pay you $250 for your running boards and we can do a swap where you take my "non-running board" black plastic panels.
Send me a PM if interested!

Wnt running boards for my 2007 GL450
Has anyone gotten running boards from a junk yard and installed on their own car? And did you take them off the junker? If so, how difficult is it? We have an LKQ pick your part fairly close and you and they have three that have boards at their lot. About 60 bucks for a set but you have to remove them yourself.
