Creaking Noise?
Creaking noise from driver's side on new GL450. Anyone else experience it? Was taken to dealer already and they "oiled some things", but that didnt seem to fix it.

Don't get me started on creaking noises. I HAVE THEM EVERYWHERE, no kidding. MY dealer won't even agree to oil the seats. I did have access to WIS-Net and StarTek Info, so I downloaded a seat guide for Mercedes, which has info for dealers. Apparently, the dealers have a noise insulation kit with different felt padding and glue to apply to the seats to stop noises. I'm going to confront my dealer about that. I suggest you do the same.

that thread is going down the drain quickly unless we stop now
btw, if that is any data point my truck is very quiet when going down the road except a few thumps from the front suspension when going over large bumps that the dealer cannot remedy and i consider part of the character...

close....wedding cake. I will be here all week, try the veal. Seriously, I will end up bringing it back to the dealer again. I will listen to see if maybe it is the seats.

It's most likely the plastic trim covers underneath where the seatbelt attaches. Try grabbing that; if it makes a noise, that's your culprit. The plastic needs lubrication or felt padding in most cases

I have it from time to time in my ML 350. The first thing i do is check if all of the bench seats are latched into place. And check your trunk privacy screen(the rolling thing that covers up what ever you have in your trunk..if you keep it in the car). I've never had a problem in my GL 450 though.

Took the trunk cover off cause that creaked like crazy. I have a feeling it is the pillar between the front and back doors that holds the seatbelt. Car is going to get tire rotation so maybe they could address the problem then.

Yes, all of the above. It's a set of bushings in the front A-arms that is on nationwide back order. My dealer will replace at no cost even if out of warranty when they are back in stock.

I cured my creaking with a glob of vasoline on the latch mechanism for the fold down rear seats....as in where the seat back locks into the body, around shoulder height if you're in the seat...worked like a charm.

Creaking noise solution
For me MB is using the worst plastic quality used to make panels, center console, etc. They are creaking when making contact berween them once the panels are assembled. For example center console has 4 different parts (cup holder with ash tray, command, tray, rear ac exit) all of them creak. This is incredible. Mercedes quality has been declining over the years but price and "reputation" still high for those who still believe and pay attention to their slogan but, may be is better nothing!!!
Ok, Solution:
At least for a while this is what I did and worked: disassemble were the creaking is and spray out all plastic surface that make contact each other with Teflon dry lubricant SAFE FOR PLASTIC you can find in Home Depot. This morning my car was a new car again. Free of those anoying creaking!!!
Good luck!
