Hi all,
I got a new phone this weekend and am trying to get things going with the GL. I can pair just fine, I do this by having my phone find the GL after pushing the pairing button on the bluetooth puck.
My problem is it never downloads my contacts. Has anyone gotten this to work on the older Comand system of the 07/08 GL? I've searched but only find reference to the newer systems where you can tell it to download contacts.
Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem w/ my '08 when I had over 3,000 contacts in my Blackberry. Phone paired, but no contacts in the MB telephone list. I cut down the list to the 250 contacts I use, and then the contacts from my BB downloaded to the Comand system. Takes about 1 min after the phone pairs.
( I had card scan set up at work so every business card was in my BB originally)

My Blackberry loaded them just fine last week. I'm suspecting its some issue with the Droid not communicating properly.

Which puck are you using? I think you need the "6131" but I have not yet tried it personally.
I'll have to check that. I believe I have the newest puck given other discussions I've seen over the years, but I haven't physically looked.
The more I think about this, the more I think it's really some behavior of the phone itself. I know that the MB is capable of receiving contact information since it did it flawlessly with my blackberry.
I am guessing that either the MB asks the phone to send contact information, or the phone just sends contact information when a bluetooth connection happens. The blackberry did this and the MB received and intergrated the list, but the Droid X2 doesn't do that.

Jim- Over the nearly 4 years of ownership, I've never heard of anyone getting a 'droid' product to sync correctly to the COMAND - which is why I stuck with BB and now iPhone - I know they work. I did try to connect to a droid phone at a Verizon store once and it did not connect right...in fact that one wouldn't connect at all. It's painful because my wifes X5 connects to just about anything just fine. It's not a Bluetooth thing, it's something to do with MB. Have you looked at www.wireless4mb.com? They have a compatibility list of phones...I just looked and I don't believe there is a droid phone in the mix. Sorry for the bad news. Maybe someone else knows of an end around?

I am afraid that may be the case. I see some workarounds for the new GL's to make it work, but haven't seen anything for our 07. I'll probably get a new GL in the not too distant future, will have to be something I check out.Originally Posted by BJ021

I checked the website for new model year GLs and they support android. Now I have another excuse to buy a new GL ;-)
