tire wear on gl 320

i have a 09 gl 320 bluetec with 19k miles. there is excessive wear on the edges of the tires, especially the inner edges (mostly front inner edge that is worn down completely). i have the stock goodyear run flats. is this normal wear for this vehicle or does it need an alignment? how many miles are most people getting out of a set of tires?
thanks

Sounds like you need an alignment. I have 30,000 on mine with plenty of tread left. I rotate every 5,000 miles though.

I have 37,000 miles on a 2008 GL. It is time for new tires.

Doubtful you need an alignment as no car ever needs one unless it's been in an accident.

Try higher air pressure.

Now just one GL450 with EORP.
I got 25,000 out of my conti non-runflats.
This is a heavy car that eats tires. Uneven wear shouldn't happen unless you've really whacked the wheels good or curbed them out of alignment, or your tires are improperly inflated. Underinflated tires will wear more rapidly on both edges. Overinflated tires will wear more in the middle of the tread.
Have you checked your tire pressure? Much cheaper than taking it to the dealer, and I'd start there first.

You've said some crazy sh*t here, but this one really pegs the meter. Wow. Just wow.

The alignment can change measurably on my BMW race car just riding in the trailer between my house and the racetrack.

2010 GL350
My 2010 GL350 with 21k miles still plenty threads left for at least another 10k miles. I have my tires rotated and balanced every 7500 miles.
