GL450 w/285 50 20 Terra Grapplers

I had my OEM wheels powder coated and wrapped in 285 50 20 Nitto Terra Grapplers as my winter/off road set up.

The tires clear without any rubbing what so ever and should provide some extra grip on trip to the mountains (summer off-roading and winter skiing)

Here is a pic of how they look on the GL450...

Very nice! Didn't realize there were all terrains in that size. Will likely do the same if/when I ever decide to ditch the run flats. How is the ride quality compared to stock?

I do not run stock wheels/tires so I can't compare it directly to stock. I can say that these are much quieter than expected and they ride very nicely.

My other wheels are 22" and they ride more firm and defianately handle better than these. But for my purposes these are perfect. I had the same set-up of two wheels/tire combo for my Range Rover and ran Cooper Zeon LTZ's which are very comparable. I would go with which ever of the two you can find a better deal on. The Coopers did get a bit louder with age...we will see how the Terra Grapplers do.

GL350
I found the mirror covers on E-Bay from Chrome King USA for $80.00. My question is, I have a 2012 GL350 and the seller states the chrome mirror covers are for the 2009 to 2011 GL's. Is there a difference in design for the 2012 mirrors?

Not sure about the mirror covers, mine are OEM and come with the appearance package.

However, I am pretty sure that the mirrors have changed in different model years as the turn signals have changed a couple of times over the years.

I like your wheels. If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost you to have it powder coated? Thanks.

Well the first snow has fallen in So Cal and I threw the winter set on the GL and headed up to the mountains. This year I added some spacers to push the wheels a little farther because I did not like how the big aggressive tires looked wit the OE offset. 10mm in the front and 20mm in the rear...much better now and handles better to boot!

Yes definitely hub centric...I got the H&R Trax+, great product!

No it will not effect the 4matic at all. It only widens the stance of the car which actually helps the handling.
