actually it's for the ML class W164 (2006-2011 Model Years)
i don't know if it fits the X164 GL. the GL and ML both had these holes in the ceiling and sides for the metal dog guard gate.
we had the gate in an 08 ML350. they are hard to find but useful for big dogs.
the Mercedes part number is B67659960

We do a lot of animal rescue work.
What I am tring to build is a fairly solid side to side bar to connect a short lead and dog harness to give them freedom but with limited travel.
My old SUV had grab handles in the third row and I ran a strap between them.
The X164 does not have a good connection like that.

oh that is really great about the animal rescue!
so i googled the part number and it does appear in the GL X164 accessories catalog from an old brochure in Italy. so it may be the same fit as the W164 .
if i recall correctly, the X164 has holes in the ceiling and forward part of the cargo area just like the ML's W164 did. so it wouldn't surprise me if this part was interchangeable on both models.
but if you are looking for just a bar, this might be too much for you. i've put it up for sale in the ML forum with a pic: https://mbworld.org/forums/m-class-w...b67659960.html
