Need help with gl new head unit
Ok, I decided to put my pioneer avic in my 2011 gl450. Changed speakers to focal, jl 5 channel amp, jl sub. Had a friend's shop do it. It's finished except one thing.
You can put a dvd on from the head unit, and it plays through rear seat entertainment monitors, and the front. You can hear audio fine. Problem is if you put a dvd in the factory rear dvd player you cannot her anything through the headsets. So no way to hear any audio from rear dvd is my problem. Any ideas?

Seems as though they ran into another problem in that the radio reception is poor, and non-existent on AM. I am thinking perhaps there are antenna amplifiers that need to be powered. Do anyone know which lead this would be for a 2010 GL450? Also I am guessing this may be related to the wireless headsets not working

I think Metra sent the incorrect antenna adapter. The one that is for the GL should also have a remote power lead which powers the antenna amps. Correct connector should be here today. I will post results. Thanks!
As for sub, I bought a customer enclosure from a forum member. Sub mount replaced the first aid kit. Looks perfect in that spot, and take up no space. However, it can only fit an 8". Sounded fine with the factory system, not sure if it will be enough now though.

Same here,,. Looking for a way to power the antenna and get decent FM reception. Every thread over the past six years where someone pops the question ends up going cold. On a 2010 GL, does anyone know where to connect to Avin (or other aftermarket) HU and get factory FM antenna to work? Connecting Amp-Con (12V) to the Ant wire doesn't make a difference. Anyone knows how the FM amplifier/antenna is powered on this vehicle
