Ac problems code 9006
Hi. I know this is the x164 forum but I have already posted this problem on the w251 forum without too much success. I have a 2006 r350 w251 and it is basically the same platform so I am hoping this section will get more views. I purchased the r350 with the motor in the trunk in pieces so I don't know the history or problems the Ac had before I purchased the car. I fitted a complete used motor and it now runs great but the Ac compressor was siezed. I replaced the compressor, drier and expansion valve with all new parts and vacuumed and recharged with r134. The compressor will not actuate via the dash controls and has a fault code 9006 short to Ac compressor. I can actuate the compressor thru my star system and it blows ice cold. It is showing a fault with the pressure switch but I have swapped out the switch and it is showing 12 bars pressure on the star system. I checked all the pressure switch wiring and have found no problems also I have a 2007 gl x164 which I used to swap out the Ac control module and front Sam but still have the 9006 code. Any ideas or suggestions would be great fully accepted. Thanks

Got the Ac compressor break in procedure finally completed today after quite a few attempts but I still have code 9006 relating to the pressure switch present. Any other ideas?

Are all your fuses (namely #12 on the pass side of the dash) alright? Are your fans kicking in when ac is called for? 12 bars showing on high or low side or statically? Does the pressure change on low side when manually activating compressor with sds? When trying to start ac are you putting controls on max cooling?
Normally "short to compressor" means just that. If everything checks out i would try another compressor. Starting compressor via sds bypasses starting amperage check, but when starting it normally the check might fail if compressor is too tight and border line shorted out.

All fuses are ok, the cooling fans kick on when I activate Ac thru sds and have 10 bar pressure on low side and goes up to 16 bars running. This is the second new compressor I have fitted both with the same code. The first new compressor I removed and fitted to another car and is working perfectly on that car. am at a loss as what to do next

I give a solution only to individuals. because we earn money for repairs in our country. if I openly publish this decision, then we may recive competitors.

Well, I tink it is better to post your services in a section of mechanics for Mercedes. Here we have lots of persons of other countries like me (I live in Brazil). Fortunately I had never got a code like that, but I like to know about common problems of cars and it's solutions as, sometimes I work as a mechanic at home.

I Have 2006 ML350. Replaced with aftermarket compressor a couple days ago, but getting same issue (compressor only functions with Diagnostic tool but not normally by pushing "A/C" button). I read this post (https://mbworld.org/forums/gl-class-...ompressor.html) and it is similar. Has anyone had success by reflashing HVAC software? How do i get this compressor functioning normally?

I had the same problem and I replaced the compressor with a genuine Mercedes unit and it cured the problem. I used the non genuine compressor on a w211 and it worked perfectly

I did read that post, but i've got an aftermarket compressor installed. I'm wondering if reflashing the HVAC software at the dealership will actually fix this problem or not?
