Help accessing front headlight bulbs

That is the bulb I can not get loose.

I am trying to replace the marker lights on the outer edges and the running light in the middle. I can grab the wiring and I got the clip out but I can not figure out how to pull the bulb out of it. Is there a simple way to just remove the entire assembly?

There is already a thread on this; the answer is long needle nose pliers.

I tried that unless I am not pulling hard enough with the needle nose do they need to be turned then pulled like the low beams? I searched I am hoping I do not need to pull the entire assembly out but how else do I get to the marker lights?

Yes, I believe you need to twist it as you pull. It's certainly not the easiest thing. I did it a year or so ago, and went to do it again, and it was just as much of a pain the second time around. Next time I'll install LED so I don't ever have to change them again.

The LED's don't last as long as standard bulbs. I went back to stock bulbs after all varieties of the LED bulbs failed way too quickly. Not just on this car but all MB's I own.

Yes, owners manual says counterclockwise turn, just like the others. Should not need to disconnect wiring

I did not even think to look at the manual I will make sure I do that next time before wasting your times guys! It was tough to get my hand back there but I was able to turn it a quarter turn counterclockwise and it pulls out of the shaft.

As a guy who went through a bucketload of work installing LEDs, this is an uncomfortable thing to hear.

LEDs should last near forever, but their Achilles Heel is heat. Did you try the kind with fan cooling?

Back on thread topic: The little clips that hold the bulbs in are insanely finicky. I found the high beams pretty easy to deal with, but the low beams are awful. If I recall correctly, the wires need to end up emerging from the lower part of the plug; you start with the wires about 1/8 turn counter clockwise from the bottom and twist in.

I was running halogen low beams in DRL mode and I'd have a bulb (one of two) go out every 12k miles or so.
