2009 GL550
I have a 2009 GL550 with bad LCD. Looking to go with Alpine\Kenwood\Pioneer. I have Rear Entertainment and have a few questions.
- Can I play 3 sources at one time? Meaning Rear seats watch something different, using Rear DVD and Front Receiver as Source with headphones and then have radio\music playing over speakers?
- Can the Dash Clock be set at all?
- Can my steering wheel buttons be used for "Siri" Activation for CarPlay?

This is exactly what I am looking to do to my 2008 GL320. The one question I have is the factory backup camera. Did you have to replace it or were you able to retain it and use some kind of adapter. Other Chinese made units come with adapter of some sort. Thanks and this looks awesome, thank you for sharing.

I ended up finding someone on e-bay who sold front plates of the command unit, so after I pulled the radio\nav out, the front plate basically screwed off and you screwed the new one on. Didn't have to disassemble the old one and install the new LCD. I still have my old front plate if anyone needs one for a decent price. Of course with a bad LCD!

Edit: Found the thread with the details on the wire for the backup camera: https://www.benzworld.org/threads/av...ation.2375585/ Very good writeup of the installation process too.

What about the factory mic? Did you use it with the new unit or did you opt to use the built in mic in the unit?

It has online stations for a bunch of countries. I’m not using FMradio because I don’t feel the need to anymore. Online quality is better.
It has an integrated mic that apparently works better than my stock, at least ppl tell me they can hear me really well.
Works with canbus too, so all steering buttons are operational.
I still haven’t tried the adapter for the backup camera. Wish me luck

Dash kit, interface module and a pioneer or alpine u it is the way to go. Much more expensive, but you get satellite radio, way better sound, better video and line outputs for amps. I did the Alpine Halo in my 2010 GL550.

SariyskiS, I know this is an old thread, sorry for the necro. I tried to buy the Avin model and they told me it was out of stock and I could wait 2-3 weeks. I decided to cancel my order and look at Teyes CC3. I have two questions, did it come with the harness to connect to the GL or do I need to order one from somewhere?? Second question is, does the headunit dim with the headlights?

The model I have has widgets with android features
Hi All,
What is the best after market stereo/radio for GL450 2008. it would be great if it has Bluetooth and integration for a backup camera.
I have been searching and found few options on eBay. mostly they are android so am not sure how reliable and good these options are.
1- Hizpo Android 7.1 Quad Core
2- 4-Core Android 7.1 Car
any reliable better options ?
Thanks
