Best Aftermarket Radio/Stereo for GL450 2008
Hi All,
What is the best after market stereo/radio for GL450 2008. it would be great if it has Bluetooth and integration for a backup camera.
I have been searching and found few options on eBay. mostly they are android so am not sure how reliable and good these options are.
1- Hizpo Android 7.1 Quad Core
2- 4-Core Android 7.1 Car
any reliable better options ?
Thanks

Check with the large automotive electronics stores such as CarToys to see what they offer and recommend and why.

I have an android radio on my mustang. There is always a constant background ticking caused by the subwoofer that is a little anoying Also my iphone looses connection with the radio sometimes provoking that someone will phone me, I'll answer with the radio, then suddently the communication cuts, hence the radio outputs no sound from the call (and the person can't hear me) and the phone thinks is still connected, hence no sound on the phone either. Very anoying.
Besides the ticking and the iphone comunication troubles the radio is a very serious upgrade from the old one (cassette).
Now, as for the Mercedes, I'm not sure I would wish to upgrade, I would loose the 6 DVD charger (I have multimedia system, so I use the charger to cycle up 6 different anime movies for my daugther on the back). Also I'm afraid I could loose some car functions. I would get google maps and spotify, those are very interesting upgrades for sure...
If the android unit had a 6 DVD charger, I think I would replace it...

That’s the concern...that aftermarket changes never quite integrate as seamless as the OEM option. My 2007 unit functions but the navigation unit doesn’t. I’m debating going with either the Android (avin) option, which looks nice, or Pioneer unit (double din) or repair the factory unit.
Anyone try a Carplay unit from one of the majors?

Looking for an update to see if anyone found a decent replacement radio for the GL450. I'm thinking about this model here, but hate to give up Sirius XM, yet will live without if needed: https://avinusa.com/mercedes-benz-ml...on-system.html

Sorry been busy, and now I went to take some pics and my camera battery was dying, so I took this ones as quick as possible... so have in mind I didn't have time to adjust, and the screen came out a little overblown...
My setup is, Alpine Halo 9 which has Apple CarPlay and I added, Surround view backup camera and Amazon Fire Stick... I will be adding a sub soon.

Just bought and 11 GL450 for my wife and she wants an upgrade head unit. She says that the Mercedes screen isn't colorful enough when playing tunes from her iPhone. Screen being in basic black, tan, brown, etc. In her 03 S600, I had upgraded to a Chinese unit. It works great, and is easy to use. Only problem was I had to disable the optical system which turned on the SOS light on the dash. Now I have to push the reset button to get rid of the light every time I start the car. I'm wondering if I will have the same problem with my GL450. I see that they sell the MOST optical adapter for this vehicle. Can anyone confirm that an aftermarket system will plug and play with no issues?
