2007 GL 450 noise under hood on passenger side.
Every 10 seconds.
Like something is engaging and stops.
Need help.

Assuming will drain battery.

It looks like you have the fuse to your airmatic pump removed. Do you think it can be of the relays associated with the airmatic? put your hand on the relays and see if you can feel they are actuating.

Yes, I took the fuse out to see if it was the air matic pump and noise but continued after I pulled out.

What are the relays?

Relays are like switches. they use a small current to turn on a larger current. They are the square things along the bottom of that fuse box. you can hear and feel them turning on and off.

I found the problem and it has happened to Mercedes s500. The air valve block is acting up.

the valve air block or VAB wants to engage about every 10 seconds when car is turned off.

thus draining my battery and killed it.

is it possible to unplug the VAB when car is not running?

I see there is a power cord that plugs in but i want to know if I can safely unplug when car is off.

oterwise. I have to disconnect battery every time I stop. To the left of the light with red cable is the plug to VAB.


Indy Mercedes wants $600, dealership almost $1k.

i found valve air block new for $250 with lifetime warranty and a local mechanic will install for $180.

Can't you just pull the fuse/relay to that circuit? Wouldn't that be easier?

which fuses would that be? Yes, if I can, that would be better.

Check the fuse/relay chart in your manual (or google for it). Sorry, I don't know which one it is "by heart".

found it! Fuse box in tail gate right tail light fuse 32. This will be much easier than disconnecting off my negative cable of battery that is under passenger seat.

I will get the thisfixed, I found the part by Miessler, lifetime warranty, for $200.00.
