How many miles do the struts typically last on an '11 GL450?

180K miles on my GL550 and after my replacement front shock from Arnott for the left front arrives next week, I'll be on set #4 for front shocks (2 pairs of MB and 2 pairs of Arnott). I'm on set #2 for the rear air bags (1 MB and 1 Arnott). My first set of Arnott fronts also had a shorter life than the MBs. I got similar life to backdoc. Both lasted ~1.5 years, which was 20-25K miles.

Wow...these shocks/airbags are absolute garbage! The roads here in Phx are smooth as silk, so having them last for 6 months is horrible. I would love to know if there are options other than Arnott out there?
