My Trunk Won't Work (Video example)!
I just bought a 2007 GL450 and for some reason the trunk wont work. There isn't even power in the button. I can hear a sound when I pull the handle but nothing happens. I shot a video to highlight the issue in more detail.
Video Update: The Parktronic does work but but until I've almost hit the blasted object.
Any Help and/or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I seem to recall that there is some type of "reset" or "calibration" procedure that can be done for the hatch. Since you just got it, best bet would be to take it back and have them fix it. You must have gotten some type of warranty from that company you bought it from? They'll need to have the proper MB software/computer to do that. Probably a good place to start, anyways.
EDIT:
What do you mean by "no power in the button"? Did you open up the FOB and check for power at the various buttons? Do the other functions of the FOB work?
Also, you're pressing the button way to quickly/impatiently. It's a "press and hold" for about a second or two. See if doing that at least gets you the same sound as when you squeeze the handle.
Parktronic doesn't start working until you're maybe two or three feet from the object. But it works very well/accurately. Be patient - don't come at objects so fast and you'll be fine. You should see the yellow lights light up one by one, and eventually the red - the tone changes, as well.
Look in your manual - there's more info about it, there. If you don't have a manual, get it on MB's website and read through it. There is a LOT of good info in it.

I have read up on the parktronic and though it doesn't work as well as I would like it now that I understand how it works I can use it more effectively.

OK, I have to ask... you said you just bought the car... Did you buy it with these things already not working? What about the question of taking it back to the place you got it... warranty?
FOB... have you tried replacing the battery?
It's just the driver's door button that doesn't work? The other three do? Sounds like an issue with the handle or door lock and may need to be replaced.

I dealt with this issue in a previous thread. It is most likely either the proximity sensor or the hatch module

Are you referring to the DAS or SDS? Are they the same thing?
you have any links to where I can purchase one?

Not the same thing, but not entirely sure what is the difference.
Amazon! Try it out and return if it doesn't match what you need.

My battery once died and I needed to normalize the windows and liftgate (Won't open or close), I read somewhere to reset it by pulling the fuse and opening the door manually all the way to the top then re-inserting the fuse and it worked. I believe the fuse is located in the rear fuse box, close to the rear SAM (if it similar to the W164). Also, try unplugging the pump motor, check for corrosion on the pump or connectors.
Yes, the red button does light up, I think ONLY if the interior or exterior lights are on though.
Good luck.

I went to the dealer and they told me that there is a module that makes the ding noise when the tailgate goes down and that could cause the issue as well. He said typically when the latch works its NOT the actuator.
He also pointed out that I need a tailgate adjustment because when closing the tailgate should catch and then "soft close" similar to the doors on the s-class.
The close button is not illuminated at all either...

I'm almost there. Everything was working just fine and then it stopped pulling the door in. I dont know if it is cause the door was hitting the top of my garage for awhile when attempting to open but I have replaced the Pump, the latch, and the computer. It should work now!!!
