To the point! I just wanted to share my new windshield with you guys. My old one was the regular green one. It had a big quarter sized rock chip on the driver side and a bunch of pebble chips on the passenger side... It's been like that for a while lol, I know I push everything to it's limits haha. But, if anyone was ever wanting to get a OEE solar windshield for the X164 & W164, Safelite sales these for like around $560. My insurance paid for mine, so why not.
It has he 3 areas for the electronic toll passes. I think this windshield has better sound insulation too. So far the heat insulation is very noticeable. The car doesn't feel so hot like it used to.
My 2012 Gl550 has the same kind of windshield and driver/passenger windows. I'd like to tint the driver and passenger windows, wonder if it will look weird with tint and the inferred. Anybody have them tinted?

if you were led to believe you were getting an oe glass. Get it sorted.bbut I believe your insurance company pulled a fast one on you. Mine had no problem paying for it once I insisted since the price difference was so little. You know you have an oe Mercedes glass when it has the Mercedes star.

Lol, I realized that as soon as I saw the sticker. I don't mind who it came from so far it feels like OEM. But, keep in mind this is the same manufacturer other German brands use. I think my unit is made in the US. From the lack of wind noise at high speed it could be OE Equivalent. I'm satisfied and that's all that matters.

I just put InsulatIR tint on my front windows. It's worth it. But, if you want the actual double-paned glass I heard it's pretty expensive.

oe is Mercedes one with logo
oem is from the oe supplier. Pgw aptech saint securit, ppg , pilkington ,
oee is oe equivalent. Fuyao or any other Chinese glass company that Safelite has partnered with. Only time will tell how your windshield will perform as these companies do not have the original mold to make the glass but reverse engineer it often having imperfection in visual acuity; at least that is what I read from other Mercedes owners complaints.
