Starting my 2007 Mercedes Benz. While holding the break down and pushing the start button then car cranks but won't start. Have to repeat the starting procedure many times before the car will finally start.

If it's turning over normally (fast), then I would first suspect a fuel delivery problem. I'm not familiar with your engine, but any other engine I've ever messed with has a Schraeder valve where you can hook up a pressure gauge to check fuel pressure.

Any codes?

FYI... it's a "brake"

Thank you. Battery is 2 years old. Never replaced starter.

You didn't mention "how" the engine is turning over... normal speed? Just because the battery is 2 years old, doesn't mean it's still good.
