Parktronic sensor broke and now whole system doesn’t work
I got into a small fender bender and messed up one of my sensors...at first it would be periodically when I would break even though I wasn’t close to anything but when I got home to the garage it wasn’t working at all & I almost hit the garage wall 😩
is this an an easy fix?

Damn just to replace a sensor? I wonder what is involved in the recalibration. I’m guessing since one is gone the “loop” is broken and it isn’t working anymore.

try to fish the sensor out and do what you have to do to get it pointing in the right direction and then see what you get.

They are held in place in a rather flimsy way. There is a plastic bracket in the back that when backed out (or broken) will let the sensor fall into the bumper cavity. You need to remove the front fender, fish the sensor and reattach it. Double sided tape works well then the system needs to be interrogated with star/ das and possibly re- enabled. Sometimes they just start working. Some times star/ das is needed.

To the original poster, you need to have that sensor replaced.. if it’s broken there are cheap replacements on eBay from China that work. Otherwise see if yours is still there and you can fish it out and tape it. You may be able to remove the cover under the bumper to get your hand in there depending on which sensor it is.. .some are accessible from underneath.
Once you have the sensor reinstalled see if the system works. If not, you may have another sensor that went dead (maybe in the rear). Scanning with a STAR/DAS laptop is the only way to know which sensor is faulty.. I’d fix your front sensor then if things don’t work, have the system scanned.
The correct fix of course is to have the bumper removed, damage repaired (dealer would probably replace the sensor too) and everything reinstalled.. will be expensive!
See if you can find a small good body shop near you and ask them to help. They’ll have a much more cost effective solution.
