Widest Tire?
So, it's time for new tires (again!!!). Looking to see if anybody knows what the widest tire I can put on 20" wheels with stock suspension set up. Not looking to accomplish much more than maybe increasing contact patch. Just thought I would consider it, now that I'm in the market for tires...

im on 22in x 12 wheels and run 305/45/22 they rub a hair in the front but only when im on full lock

How much room do you have between the front tires and various parts of the car/suspension? Turn the wheels lock to lock and measure. Once you know that, it won't be too hard to figure it out based on tire sizes where 1" wider would roughly equal being 1/2" closer.

If you run a lower profile tire, it will not rub at all. A 45/22 is taller than the stock tires.

305/40/22 but 305/35/22 would be the correct size but they are very expensive in comparison.

About 1-1/8" before tire would be hitting inside fender liner

Would say that that 1-1/8" is the closest/smallest clearance you would have - even if the car was bouncing over a bump? Same measurement on the front of the tire as the back of the tire? Is your current tire size 275/50R20?
