Cant seem to find fix, Check Engine
Hello and thank you for your time in advance on all reply's
I will do my best to give good information....
2009 MB GL450 140K
last repair was 8 months ago new manifold gaskets and Air flap kit
A few months back I felt what was like a misfire when at a stop at idle and it continued here and there, truck ran fine .
Recently Check Engine light went on for Bank 1 O2 sensor , so had it replaced by a friend of mine repair shop. Light came back on
He checked and clean everything injectors, plugs , Catalytic, no vacuum leaks etc... all looks and runs ok. No more he can do. Light still on for 02 Bank one
Took to a M.Benz shop or German car shop. They got Bank one and bank 2 lean codes and #8 misfire so they replaced the MAF sensor. 2 days later O2 bank 1 Check engine light came one
and BTW still have that little what feels like a misfire at idle sometime it dose it sometimes it doesn't.
that morning I started it and it sounded horrible like a deep base sound (sounded like base from the speakers) . It went away once I drove it and it happen again few days later It was coming from engine area .
So took it back and the shop said the M.Benz software says its the O2 sensor (I said it was new, Bosch) So they replaced it anyway thinking it might had been a bad one. 2 days later Check Engine light came one again P2626 O2 sensor. So I took it back and waiting for them to get to it.
Any thoughts ?

Obviously a misdiagnosis....how far they take you for a ride is up to you.
do you have an exhaust leak, even if intermittent?
common in the rust belt. You may have an intermittent pre-sensor leak that throws the o2 readings off, and then the engine management compensates off the erroneous input.

test drive this morning : when driving and data-logging live data is the right side oxygen sensor voltage will vary during normal driving (as it should) then suddenly locks on to 1.0v and will not fluctuate at all until I turn off the vehicle and restart. Left side performs as normal. So we are not having a mechanical fault, its either a DME internal fault or wire continuity fault.

Info is right from Mercedes, I guess this is a known issue, bad ECU for this year
Diagnostics are completed on the GL450 module, and this unit is beyond repair due to the issue being traced to the main processor (computer chip). The chip is not able to be replaced on this module, as it is made into the circuit board assembly, so you would need to replace the unit to correct the issue. The connections on the chip/board and the o2 circuits are actually okay, and the issue is the chip its self. There is nothing that can be done to save this unit. It must be replaced. $1195 to replace
seem to be the story with this site " cost to fix is ridiculous" " being taking for a ride" .........
