Steering rack bushings made HUGE difference in handling. My alignment shop would perform the alignment until the bushings were replaced. Unfortunately I was unaware of the hack to cut the bolts and paid for the full job by moving the from diff. The bushings typically degrade much faster if there is an oil leak. Be sure your cam caps and PCV assembly (crankcase vent valve kit) are replaced as needed. You will know this if you let the car sit for a few days and then during the first 10 minutes start to smell oil from under the hood. Typically the right side will drip onto the exhaust header.

My steering bushings were in great shape at 145k. I don't see any leaks anywhere. The Bilsteins made a subtle difference in how it drove. I doubt my wife would notice them over cheap ones, but I can tell a difference and it is much more apparent between sport and comfort now.
