Stuck passenger seat, no power

If someone could help me identify which leads I need to hit with 12 volts to get these motors moving that would be great~Can't access dead battery and blown SAM linkfuse.

Can you get to the (4) bolts that hold the seat down? It should then only take a few minutes to remove the seat - or physically slide it forward enough to access the battery.

I don't know enough about the various SAMS... but did you try jumping the car to get it running - or at least to power the seat?

I'm with DennisG01 on this.

Just attach an alternative 12v source to the engine jump posts. Turn the key to Position II (ON) without actually starting the vehicle. That should give you plenty of juice to adjust the seats with the seat controls.

It might be that the blown link is inhibiting power from the jump terminals to reach the seat or the car in general… I would first remove the two bolts that I have access to depending on the seat position. I’m guessing since he doesn’t have access to the battery the seat is full back which would mean that the front bolts are exposed..

is that just toenails and dead skin, or was this car in a flood? If the latter, you might want to adjust your expectations for success on anything.

close....its my front bolts that are covered by the unfortunate seat position. i did get the outside loose with a 10 mm ratchet wrench but the inside is a no go
only answer is to get the seat to move and for that i need some clues to wiring color or schematics
to power the motors directly. if pulling the motors will let it move or there is some kind of manual release anything to get this beast moving.....

This place is a joke.
Did you try powering the car from the under hood jump points?

Where in the circuit is the fusible link compared to where the cable from the jump post ties in?

Do the motors, themselves, have 2 wires (making them a simple circuit to jump)?

Since the seat is forward, can you get the leads (at least the positive) from a jump pack down in the battery well on the "car side" of the fusible link? I've been in there a couple times - even with the floor entirely removed - but I don't recall where the link is.

As I recall, the larger (wider?) wiring harness contains the leads for the seat controls.

Disconnect it, then look for the standard red and black wires for hot and ground. The connectors are usually 'beefy-er' for the power lines than the rest of the controls so it should be easy to identify.

Or try this:

You are looking for a black/white and brown/white wires. These are the two wires going to the motor.

Apparently you can gain access to the wires from the side of the seat:

Apparently it's the white connector or thereabouts. There should be a white connector you can access the wires from.

ALSO STUCK!

The FIRST THING one does with this RIDICULOUS MERCEDES IS, try to jump the battery!!!
That doesn't work!
THERE HAS TO BE "ANOTHER WAY" TO MOVE THE STUPID SEAT!!!
I HAVE THE FRONT 2 BOLTS OUT, BUT CANNOT GET ACCESS TO THE BACK 2, BECAUSE THE SEAT IS DOWN AND ALL THE WAY BACK!

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANOTHER WAY TO GET THIS DAMN SEAT MONED ENOUGH TO GET TO THE BOLTS TO GET TO THE BATTERY?

Yikes - my ears are hurting! Heck of a fist post, guy!

Re-read the post - there are suggestions in there.

Also...try being inventive with tools or even adapt/make one that could work.

You also didn't mention (shout) if you tried jumping the battery at the remote jump post under the hood (also mentioned in this post)?

The more info you can provide will help us help you.

Need to manually move an electric seat

My 2014 ml350 bluetec w166 has lost all power. I Can not jump start. I Put a battery charger on the vehicle for 2 days.
when I open the doors, the interior lights, and dashboard won’t turn on. The power seats don’t work. I have tried inserting the key fob into the start and turning, with no reaction.
My first plan of attack was going to be to change the battery. I have read it is probably in immobilizer mode. I Changed key fob batteries, and have read that disconnecting/changing the battery and leaving disconnect for 5 min, can reset this system.

the issue I am running into, is that I am unable to disconnect or remove the battery because the passenger seat is all the way down and back.

how can I move the seat when no power source is available to help?

Platinum, can you get to the seat hold-down bolts? Remove those and just tilt the seat up/forward. You might have to get creative with tool usage depending on access to the bolts.

I wonder... if you connect a battery to the remote jump post... and turn the key to the "on" position... I wonder if that would allow you to access the computer with a scanner?
